Committees

Awards Reception

This committee is responsible for selecting the date of the Annual Awards Reception, planning the location, helping with the program and other activities related to the event.

Beautification Awards

This committee is responsible for selecting the recipients of the annual beautification awards which are presented to individual homeowners and businesses at the Annual Awards Reception.

Calling and e-mail

This committee is responsible for sending out e-mail reminders about upcoming meetings or calling those few members who do not have access to e-mail.

Cooper Memorial-Chandler Park

This committee is responsible for the maintenance of the two flower beds on the north side of Chandler Park. This involves maintaining the plantings, weeding, watering, and mulching as necessary.

Courthouse Plantings

This committee is responsible for the maintenance of the two flower beds on the north and south sides of the courthouse. This involves maintaining the plantings, weeding, watering, and mulching as necessary.

Depot Christmas Decorations

This committee is responsible for the Christmas greenery that is put into the Depot flower boxes each December and for the removal after the Christmas holidays.

Depot Summer Window Boxes and Flower Beds

This committee is responsible for coordinating the purchase and planting of summer annuals in the depot flower boxes. Committee will also coordinating the watering by volunteers.
This committee is also responsible for the plantings, upkeep, and watering of the two flower beds on the southwest side of the train depot.

Western Illinois Museum

This committee is responsible for planting flowers in the two planters outside the Western Illinois Museum. Christmas greenery is also placed in the planters. The museum is responsible for watering.

Tree Project

This committee is responsible for coordinating the reimbursement of new trees which are planted in individual front yard (see criteria for reimbursement).

Chandler Park Cleanup

This committee is responsible for coordinating the annual spring cleanup of Chandler Park which is undertaken with the assistance of 4H and FFA volunteers, members of Master Gardeners and the Macomb Women’s Club.

Nominating Committee

This committee is responsible for the annual presentation of the slate of officers for the following year. The slate of officers is presented at the October meeting and voted on at the November meeting.
